19 international companies expressed interest in participating in the tender announced by Bulgargaz for the supply of LNG for the months of January and February 2025 at the terminal in Alexandroupolis.

Bulgargaz said that 13 international companies showed interest in the tender for the supply of LNG to the terminal in Alexandroupolis for the months of November and December 2024, with 6 of them submitting binding offers. 

The liquefied natural gas terminal (LNG) near Alexandroupolis is a pivotal project aimed at diversifying energy supply and bolstering regional energy security, confirmed Bulgarian Energy Minister Vladimir Malinov.

The Executive Director of Bulgartransgaz Vladimir Malinov participated in an organised visit to the shipyard of Keppel Corporation in Singapore, where the floating unit for the LNG terminal near Alexandroupolis is being constructed.

Bulgaria's Minister of Energy Rossen Hristov and the Executive Director of Bulgartransgaz Vladimir Malinov inspected the construction activities of the LNG terminal near Alexandroupolis: he plans of running the facility into operation as of early 2024 were confirmed.

The construction works of the Alexandroupolis gas-fired power plant, developed by three Greek energy groups officially began, after an inauguration ceremony held in the presence of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
