Slovakia has initiated negotiations with Austria and Hungary to discuss the security of gas supply, in the case of a possible termination of gas transport through Ukraine after 2024. 

The EIB Group has provided Hypo Vorarlberg with a 61 million-euro guarantee on the mezzanine tranche of a synthetic securitisation transaction on a 360 million-euro portfolio of loans to small businesses and mid-caps mainly originated in Austria.

OMV announced the largest natural gas discovery in Austria in 40 years. The discovery is expected to contribute significantly to supply security, said the company.

Gas transmission system operators of Slovenia (Plinovodi), Austria (Gas Connect Austria) and Croatia (Plinacro) signed an MoU on the continuation of the cooperation in the area of energy infrastructure development.
