Officials in Bulgaria said that the country's Chiren underground gas storage facility has reached 100 per cent of its technical capacity, fulfilling the EU regulation requirement for member states to reach at least 90 per cent capacity by 1 November each year.

Bulgartransgaz signed an MoU with Glavbolgarstroy Holding, Solar Turbines, Honeywell, and Pietro Fiorentini, to develop a pilot project for the production and use of green hydrogen for technological needs in the facilities of the underground gas storage Chiren.

Bulgartransgaz and the association DZZD UGS DRILLING CHIREN signed a contract for the design, construction and commissioning of ten new exploitation and three observation wells, which will increase Chiren UGS’s operational safety and capacity.

Bulgartransgaz and DZZD Tech Energy Expansion signed a contract for the supply of the necessary materials and equipment, construction and commissioning of the "Expansion of Chiren UGS capacity - above-ground part."
