Enefit Green has reached an important milestone in the construction of its Sopi-Tootsi wind park in Northern Pärnu County, Estonia.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is lending 100 million euros to Enefit Green for the construction and operation of the 255 MW Sopi-Tootsi wind park in Estonia.

Estonia received a state aid permit from the European Commission to support hydrogen technology development projects of Skeleton Technologies with 18 million euros.

The first semi-deep geothermal pilot project developed by Estonia's Geological Survey has officially started operations in the Tiskre sub-district in Tallinn, Estonia. 

The EBRD is supporting the development of solar energy in Estonia by lending 22 million euros to KC Solar2 to finance the construction of a 45 MW solar park in Kehra.

According to the conclusions of the final report of the National Nuclear Energy Working Group, the introduction of nuclear energy in Estonia would support the achievement of climate goals, security of supply and stability of the energy system.

Respect Energy Capital Group announced on Tuesday that it plans to build an offshore wind farm based on floating turbines, with an installed capacity of 820 megawatts off the coast of Estonia. 

Enefit Green, one of the leading renewable energy producers in the Baltic Sea region, and the European Investment Bank (EIB) have signed a 180 million euro financing agreement to support the construction of the Sopi-Tootsi onshore wind farm in Estonia.

The Investment and Development Agency of Latvia and with the Environmental Investment Centre of Estonia, submitted a project application to the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) programme for the ELWIND wind farm project.

Despite a decrease in wind power, due to unfavourable climate conditions, solar power saw the biggest growth in Estonia for yet another year as the amount of the produced electricity grew by more than half.

We will only be able to achieve Estonia’s renewable energy targets if we ensure an excellent investment environment for companies in order to develop renewable energy, said the Minister of Economic Affairs and Infrastructure Riina Sikkut.

The construction of the LNG terminal in Paldiski, Estonia, has now moved to laying the offshore pipe which will connect the gas infrastructure on land and the equipment on the pier.

Estonia will receive 3.5 billion euros of Cohesion Policy funding to support economic, social and territorial cohesion in 2021-2027 in the framework of the Partnership Agreement between the European Commission and Estonia, adopted this week.
