Ukraine’s state-owned oil and gas group Naftogaz reported a fourfold year-over year increase in its net consolidated profit for the first half of 2024, posting 24.4 billion Ukrainian hryvnia, or about 531 million euros. 

Ukraine state-owned oil and gas company Naftogaz said that commodity gas production has risen by 7 per cent year-over-year since the beginning of 2024, with 9.8 billion cubic metres produced so far.

The discussion between SOCAR and Naftogaz covered the prospects of cooperation in the oil and gas industry, including exploring the potential for storing Azerbaijani gas in Ukraine.

In 2023, Naftogaz produced over 1 billion cubic metres of gas from new wells for the first time in the company's history.

Ukraine has 11.7 billion cubic metres of gas stored in its domestic underground facilities, said the CEO of Naftogaz.

Naftogaz confirmed that its tariffs for international customers interested in natural gas storage will remain unchanged throughout the gas withdrawal season.

During the first six months of 2023, over 157,000 metres have been drilled by Naftogaz, noting a record six-month result over the last 15 years.

Between 26 April and the end of May this year, Naftogaz purchased around 400 cubic metres of gas from private Ukrainian producers on the Ukrainian Energy Exchange.

IMF confirmed that Naftogaz has met all the conditions set out in a recent agreement with the Ukrainian government on extended financial assistance.
