Water supply partially restored in Nikopol
The head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration Serhiy Lysak said this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"Water supply has been partially restored in Nikopol. About a third of the city's residents have been supplied with water," Lysak said.
According to him, water is now supplied with a high chlorine content. This is due to technological requirements, as the pipes have been dry for a long time, and now more thorough cleaning is needed.
The head of the military administration informed that the Chervonohryhorivka community can also partially use the centralized water supply service. They continue to implement a project that will provide water to all residents.
"Work continues in other communities in the Nikopol and Kryvyi Rih districts, which suffer from the shallowing of the Kakhovka Sea. In particular, we are working on the construction of the Ingulets-Pivdenne main water pipe," Lysak said.
As Ukrinform reported, due to the shallowing of the Kakhovka reservoir, the coastal communities of the Nikopol district and the city itself - more than 200,000 people in total - were left without water supply.
On the night of June 6, Russian invaders blew up the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, causing flooding of parts of Kherson and Mykolaiv regions and critical shallowing, and later drying up of the reservoir.
