Russians turn all Lysychansk healthcare facilities into military hospitals

Ukrinform
Residents of the temporarily occupied Lysychansk, Luhansk region, are deprived of access to healthcare as the Russian invaders have turned all the city's medical facilities into military hospitals.

"The invaders were able to restore electricity supply a little, to connect about 5,000 clients... There is a very big problem with the water supply. There were very intensive battles, poison got into the underground water. This water, which is currently supplied, is purely technical, it is impossible to use it as drinking water. Also, there will definitely be a problem with the heating... Now they [invaders] promise that they will do something, but a year has passed and they say that they cannot do anything because of shelling... As I see, they have no desire to do it," Valeriy Shybiko, Head of the Lysychansk City Military Administration, said on the air of Priamyi TV channel.

According to him, many Russian soldiers settled in the city. The enemy closed some neighborhoods for local residents.

"All the healthcare institutions have been re-equipped into hospitals where wounded military enemy soldiers are treated. The front line is very close, significant battles are taking place there, so the number of wounded is huge, and they simply do not have time, people, or medicines to provide any services to civilian residents," said the head of the local administration.

He added that the invaders opened some pharmacies in Lysychansk, but the city residents cannot buy medicines due to inflated prices.

In addition, Shybiko noted, mobile signal is available only in some districts of Lysychansk. The Russians strictly control it and check the phones of local residents at checkpoints – for calling Ukrainian numbers, people can be locked up in a basement.

As reported, Lysychansk, temporarily captured by the Russians, has been without electricity supply for a year.
