"The academic building of the college was completely destroyed: four floors were simply blown away by a missile. Dormitories, houses, even church and Sunday school buildings were damaged. Russian inhumans daily present new arguments to the world that only the defeat of Russia and clear security guarantees for Ukraine can protect life from this terror," the Head of State said.

The President noted that a total of 285 people had been involved in the search and rescue operation and rubble removal in Sumy.

"I thank each and every one of you, thank for your conscientiousness and devotion to Ukraine! I would especially like to commend junior sergeant Andriy Horovyi, sergeant Maksym Vlasov, senior ensign Serhiy Hordiyenko, captain Serhiy Trofimov, and lieutenant colonel Vitaliy Fedorenko. Thanks, guys! Every life saved is a defeat of Russia, and we must do everything possible to ensure that the terrorist state loses only," Zelensky said.
