In Mykolayiv region, humanitarian demining was carried out on an area of 60,000 ha with a plan of 85,000 ha by the end of the year.

"A total of 288,000 ha of land are contaminated with mines in Mykolayiv region. Humanitarian demining of the territories is currently underway. So far, 60,000 ha have been demined. We have a plan of 85,000 ha by the end of the year, so we will fulfill it," Head of the Mykolayiv Regional Military Administration Vitaliy Kim said during the United News nationwide telethon.

He also noted that it was difficult to achieve the desired result due to the significant scale of mined areas despite the increased pace. In addition, priorities have been slightly changed and demining groups work more in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia directions.

As reported, foreign partners, in particular from Norway, Denmark, Switzerland and other countries, are actively helping to remove mines in Mykolayiv region. Demining works are coordinated by the headquarters with the participation of our military, police, and emergency services.
