UK embassy marks 1-month anniversary of Oct 7 massacre; envoy recites prayer

"The embassy's team, Israelis and Brits who work shoulder to shoulder in normal days and in crisis, stood together for a minute's silence in memory of the victims of the atrocities committed in Israel by Hamas a month ago today, and in the hope of a quick and safe return of the hostages," The UK Embassy in Israel said in a statement.

The British Embassy in Israel on Tuesday marked the one-month anniversary of the Oct. 7 Hamas massacre in southern Israel.

The embassy held a short ceremony in honor of those who were brutally murdered by the Hamas terrorists after the Islamic radical group sent thousands across the Gaza border in an early morning raid on the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah, eventually killing some 1400 Israeli residents, mostly civilians, and kidnapping hundreds to Gaza.

"The Israeli workers expressed their gratitude for the support they have received from the embassy."

According to the statement, UK Ambassador Simon Walters recited a prayer for the safe return of the hostages.

There was also virtual attendance by members of the British Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office's Jewish Society, "who expressed their support of their colleagues in Israel," the statement continued.
