Arkia CEO Oz Berlowitz announced the inauguration of a direct flight route between Tel Aviv and New York. Berlowitz made the announcement today (Monday), revealing the partnership with AIRTECH, a company linked to Israel's high-tech industry hub.

According to the announcement, the flights will be available to the general public and will operate on the Airbus A330-900 NEO aircraft. The inaugural flight from Tel Aviv to New York (JFK Airport) is scheduled for February 8. Round-trip ticket prices will start at $1,199, including luggage, two full meals, and beverages.

Israeli Minister of Transport Miri Regev welcomed the move, stating: "I commend Arkia for positively responding to our proposal and entering the aviation market to the US and Canada. This initiative will expand the availability of flights to North America, benefiting Israeli citizens, tourists, and businessmen by providing accessible prices. The State of Israel will support airlines that choose to operate direct flights to the US, fostering real competition. This means more flights, diversified options for passengers, and lower prices."

Eynat Guez, CEO of Papaya Global, added: "Israel's resilience is built, among other things, on its economy. We sought a solution that would allow us to continue operating companies in a way that supports ongoing growth."
