Russians trying to cut supply routes to Kursk region in Sumy region
This was stated by the spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko, who spoke at an Ukrinform-hosted briefing.
"The enemy is trying to cross the border in small groups in order to mass up forces on our territory. And this is the flank where our Defense Forces are pursuing an operation within Kursk region. The enemy's goal is most likely to cut supply routes in order to make it impossible to deliver necessary supplies to our soldiers on the other side of the border, in Kursk region," Demchenko explained.
However, according to the spokesperson, the enemy remains unable to bring their plans to life.
"The defense forces, both Armed Forces units and border guards, are doing everything possible to prevent the enemy, firstly, from crossing our border, and secondly, from gaining a foothold in our territory in order to develop a zone of active hostilities on our soil," Demchenko assured.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, this is not the first time the invaders have tried to approach the Ukrainian border, with the previous such attempt recorded on February 3.
