Strengthening Ukraine, security guarantees: Zelensky speaks with Portugal PM

During a phone call with the Prime Minister of Portugal, Luis Montenegro, President Volodymyr Zelensky shared with his counterpart the outcome of the leaders' summit in London, which discussed the preparation of an action plan that will bring a just peace closer.

The head of state of Ukraine reported this on X, Ukrinform saw.

"I spoke with Portuguese Prime Minister Luis Montenegro. We appreciate Portugal’s support—both military and political—and are grateful for standing with us. I shared the details of the leaders’ summit in London, where we agreed to prepare an action plan that will bring a just and sustainable peace to Ukraine and security to all of Europe. This includes strengthening our country and providing security guarantees," Zelensky wrote.

The president noted Ukraine would remain in contact with all European partners.

"It is important for us that every country’s voice is considered in the joint plan. Europe’s unity and U.S. leadership can undoubtedly bring an end to this war," the President said.

As Ukrinform reported, earlier today Volodymyr Zelensky had a call with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, after which he noted that Europe and Ukraine need not a temporary ceasefire, but for the war to end for good.
