
Frontline update: 59 clashes since morning, Russians attempting breakthrough toward Vovchansk
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook, sharing the operational update as of 16:00 on March 5.
It is reported that the areas of Khrinivka and Yasna Poliana in Chernihiv region, as well as Tymofiivka in Kharkiv region, were affected by Russian artillery strikes today.
In the Kharkiv sector, Russian forces are actively trying to break through near Vovchansk. "The situation is under the control of the Defense Forces, and our defenders are giving a worthy rebuff to the Russian invaders," the General Staff reports.
In the Kupiansk sector, one Russian assault near Holubivka was repelled.
In the Lyman sector, Russian forces carried out five attacks near Novomykhailivka and Nove, four clashes are still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian forces repelled four enemy attacks near Chasiv Yar, Oleksandro-Shultyne, and Predtechyne, one battle is currently underway.
In the Toretsk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled nine assaults near Toretsk, Dachne, and Dyliivka, while three other clashes continue.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian forces launched 11 attacks near Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Pishchane, Kotliarivka, and Andriivka, all of which were repelled.
In the Novopavlivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled two enemy attacks in the areas of Kostiantynopil and Burlatske.
Russian forces carried out airstrikes on the areas of Odradne and Vesele.
In the Huliaipole sector, enemy aviation struck Huliaipole, Shevchenko, Zaliznychne, and Novopil.
In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled an attack by the invaders toward Kamianske.
In the Kursk sector, eight Russian attacks were repelled, while four battles continue. Russian forces fired 226 artillery strikes, launched six MLRS barrages, and dropped 14 guided bombs.
In the Siversk and Prydniprovske sectors, no active Russian assaults were reported.
