The defense ministers of Germany and the United Kingdom have taken over the leadership of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the Ramstein format. The group's next meeting is scheduled to take place in late March or early April.

According to Ukrinform, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced this during a press conference following his meeting with Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov in Berlin on Thursday.

Pistorius stated that he and his British colleague, John Healey, had decided to co-chair the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, and its work would continue under their leadership.

He said that an important topic of discussion today and in the coming weeks would be the "compensation for U.S. assistance to Ukraine that has already been canceled or may be canceled in the future."

Pistorius also recalled that Germany allocated around EUR 4 billion in aid to Ukraine from its budget this year, emphasizing that German supplies were consistent and reliable.

He said that he would like to emphasize once again that when Germany announces deliveries or funding, it is actually provided.

The Ukraine Defense Contact Group last met at NATO headquarters on February 12. The meeting was chaired by the United Kingdom. Before that, the group's meetings were led by the United States.
