Weapons permit added to Diia
This was announced on Telegram by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukrinform reports.
“The document you have been waiting for is already in Diia. Use the digital weapons permit, generate an extract from the Unified Register of Weapons, and receive notifications about the expiration of the document,” the statement said.
The permit was launched on the basis of the electronic weapons registry, which was launched in 2023.
According to Fedorov, the document will initially work in a beta testing format. Users will be able to generate a permit in Diia, view full information about all their weapons and see the status of the document. At the end of its validity, users will receive a push notification about the expiration date, and then they will be able to renew the permit online through the Ministry of Internal Affairs website.
To use the new service, you need to update the “Action” and add the document.
According to Fedorov, the electronic permit in the app cannot be faked, and the police will be able to instantly check its legality and information about the owner, which reduces the risk of illegal arms trafficking.
As reported, as of October 19, law enforcement officers have already issued 461,800 decisions on various types of permits based on applications from Ukrainian citizens submitted through the Unified Register of Weapons.
