Injury toll in Russian airstrike on Zaporizhzhia rises to 42

As a result of yesterday's Russian airstrike, 14 people remain hospitalized in Zaporizhzhia, four of them in serious condition. A total of 42 people were injured in the attack.

This was reported on Telegram by Ivan Fedorov, Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, according to Ukrinform.

“As a result of yesterday’s attack, 42 people were injured. Fourteen are currently in hospital,” Fedorov wrote.

He noted that four of the patients are in serious condition, all have undergone surgery. One of them, a 67-year-old man, is in intensive care.

Among the injured is a pregnant woman, whose condition is assessed as moderate by doctors.

“The same goes for five children. They have mine-blast injuries, concussions, bruises, and lacerations,” Fedorov added.

Previously, 40 injuries had been reported.

As Ukrinform earlier reported, on April 22 at around 11:30, Russian forces dropped two bombs on Zaporizhzhia. One hit an infrastructure facility, the other struck a residential area. One woman was killed.
