CM Maryam wants Lahore Development Plan completed by June 30

LAHORE  -  Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has issued a firm directive to complete all projects under the Lahore Development Plan by June 30, setting strict monthly timelines for progress monitoring.

Chairing a high-level meeting to review implementation of the plan, the chief minister instructed Sen-ior Provincial Minister and Chief Secretary Punjab to ensure timely execution across all phases of the initiative. She also conducted a visual inspection of various ongoing works in the city.

In a decisive move, Maryam Nawaz set the final deadline for the construction and rehabilitation of 3,705 streets under the Lahore Municipal Corporation and 230 streets under WASA, emphasizing ur-gency in execution. Additionally, she set a separate final deadline for the completion of WASA-related works in 1,573 streets.

“Phase-II of the Lahore Development Plan includes the construction and rehabilitation of streets in Allama Iqbal, Aziz Bhatti, and Wagah Towns,” the chief minister said. “Delays in development schemes directly disrupt daily life for citizens.”

Expressing her commitment to public service, she added, “I consider myself accountable to the people of Lahore. I cannot tolerate any difficulty caused to them due to administrative delays.”

The chief minister’s strict directives reflect her administration’s push for efficient service delivery, par-ticularly in urban infrastructure. She warned departments of strict consequences for any further de-lays and reiterated her government’s focus on transparency, speed, and public welfare.
