
Germany delivers another defense aid package to Ukraine
The list of transferred equipment and materiel was updated on the day the new German government was formed, Ukrinform reports.
The list includes, in particular, 66 mine-resistant armored personnel carriers (MRAP), four kinetic protection vehicles, three Zuzana-2 wheeled howitzers (a project jointly funded by Denmark and Norway).
The batch also includes missiles for IRIS-T SLM air defense systems; ammunition for LEOPARD-2 main battle tanks, almost 40,000 rounds for GEPARD self-propelled guns, 27,000 155 mm artillery rounds; and 1,000 122-mm rounds.
In addition, Germany handed over 70 VECTOR reconnaissance drones with spare parts, 150 armed HF-1 drones, and 20 ground drones.
Another six Bergepanzer-2 vehicles with spare parts, four WISENT-1 demining vehicles with spare parts; two demining plows; 41 ground surveillance radars; as well as dozens of laser rangefinders, infrared binoculars, diving scooters, and border guard vehicles were delivered to Ukraine.
The package includes RGW 90 anti-tank guns, G3 and MK 556 assault rifles. Ukrainian defenders also received harnesses and sleeping bags, etc.
As reported, Germany plans to spend almost the same amount on military aid to Ukraine this year as in 2024, which is almost EUR 8 billion.
