Kundi launches free ambulance service for Peshawar residents

Peshawar  -  Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi formally inaugurated a free emergency ambulance service for the citizens of Peshawar on Saturday.

The launch ceremony was held at the provincial headquarters of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society in Dabgari Garden.

The event was attended by Chairman of the organisation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Malik Habib Orakzai, Vice Chairman Farzand Wazir, PPP Provincial Deputy General Secretary Abrar Saeed, former Speaker of the Provincial Assembly Kiramatullah Chagharmatti, Razaullah Khan Chamkani, members of the Red Crescent Society, and other relevant officials.

Governor Kundi congratulated the PRCS team for launching the free ambulance service in challenging times, calling it a valuable step in emergency healthcare. He was informed during a detailed briefing that the service would initially operate with three ambulances and cover areas such as Qilla Bala Hisar and Khyber Teaching Hospital to serve residents in Peshawar.

The Governor urged the Red Crescent to expand the ambulance service to northern and southern districts of the province and approach donors to increase the fleet.

He also stressed the need for public awareness and making the service a model for other provinces.

He directed the organisation to initiate efforts for establishing a nursing college in the province and prepare strong proposals to engage support from donor countries.

Governor welcomes ceasefire, calls for Kashmir resolution

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Saturday welcomed the ceasefire between Pakistan and India, terming it a timely and positive move towards lasting peace in South Asia.

In a statement, the Governor said Pakistan has always acted as a responsible and peace-loving state, and the ceasefire reflects this consistent stance. He added that genuine peace in the region hinges on the just resolution of the Kashmir issue. He urged the international community, particularly the United Nations and global human rights bodies, to take serious notice of violations in Indian-occupied Kashmir and press India to pursue dialogue and justice. Governor Kundi also acknowledged the role of U.S. President Donald Trump in facilitating the ceasefire and commended the Pakistan Armed Forces for defending the country amid recent tensions. He said the military had made the nation proud by confronting both internal and external threats. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace, prosperity, and regional cooperation based on mutual respect and justice.
