LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Sunday expressed profound gratitude to Allah Almighty for what she described as the “defeat of hostile intentions” against Pakistan, as the country marked a national Thanksgiving Day following Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s call for unity and reflection.
In a statement, the chief minister lauded the resilience of the Pakistani nation and the valor of its armed forces. “Today is not merely a day of gratitude—it is a day of pride, courage, and the triumph of national unity,” she stated.
Commending the Pakistan Army, she said the institution had once again proven itself to be “brave, professional, and immensely capable.” She emphasized that the country’s armed forces had responded to recent Indian provocations “not only with bullets but with strategic wisdom and unwavering courage.”
“Our Falcons have sent a clear message to the world: Pakistan’s defense is unbreakable,” she asserted. “The world must now understand—Pakistan will never retreat from defending its sovereignty.” Maryam Nawaz went on to salute the bravery and resolve of Pakistani soldiers, stating, “They looked the enemy in the eye and demonstrated that Pakistan is a peaceful nation—but never a weak or cowardly one.” She further stressed the unity between the nation, its leadership, and its armed forces, declaring it the cornerstone of Pakistan’s strength. “The sacrifices of our martyrs will never be forgotten,” she said. “Their legacy is the foundation of our continued security and dignity.” The chief minister underscored the government’s commitment to empowering the next generation. “We will equip our youth with education, skills, and technology,” she vowed. “We envision a Pakistan so strong and progressive that no adversary will dare cast an evil eye upon it.”
