Managing Director of Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF), Afzal Bhatti, called on Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to discuss matters concerning overseas Pakistanis, especially those hailing from Punjab.
During the meeting, CM Maryam Nawaz issued clear instructions to prioritize the resolution of issues faced by overseas Pakistanis. She directed all provincial departments and district administrations to take immediate and practical steps to address their concerns.
The Chief Minister also announced the appointment of focal persons in the CM Office, Chief Secretary’s Office, and IG Punjab’s Office to facilitate swift communication and resolution of issues for overseas citizens.
Afzal Bhatti gave a detailed briefing on the challenges faced by Pakistanis living abroad, particularly those from Punjab. He also apprised the Chief Minister of matters related to the OPF Housing Society and affiliated schools.
In response, CM Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the government is committed to solving the problems of overseas Pakistanis without delay. She stressed the importance of activating and strengthening the Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab to serve the community more effectively.
“Our overseas compatriots are a valuable asset to the nation,” she stated, reiterating her government’s unwavering commitment to their welfare.
Afzal Bhatti congratulated the Chief Minister on the successful completion of Operation Bunyad Marsoos, acknowledging the support and unity shown by overseas Pakistanis during this effort. He also noted that overseas communities across the globe celebrated Pakistan’s recent symbolic victory against India with great fervor.
“The overseas Pakistani community stands shoulder to shoulder with the government and the Pakistan Army,” Bhatti affirmed.
