The Senate is scheduled to meet today (Tuesday) at 6:00 pm at the Parliament House, with an eight-point agenda set for discussion.
As part of the proceedings, Senator Faisal Saleem Rehman, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Interior and Narcotics Control, will present reports on three key amendment bills. These include amendments to the Societies Registration Act, 1860, the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and the Control and Prevention of Profiteering and Hoarding Act, 1977.
Senator Saleem Mandviwalla will also present the committee’s report on the Income Tax Amendment Bill, 2025. A resolution for the approval of the same bill is expected to be tabled.
In a significant agenda item, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb will present the Finance Bill 2025. The Senate will then forward its recommendations on the bill to the National Assembly.
