Law firm Reff & Associates | Deloitte Legal has obtained from Romania's High Court of Cassation and Justice (HCCJ) the annulment of almost RON10 million interest rates imposed by Romanian authorities on a multinational company operating in the field of building products, which was forced to reimburse a state aid granted from the national budget.

Reff & Associates| Deloitte Legal obtained, in the administrative appeal stage with the Ministry of Finance, a favorable solution for a taxpayer operating in the agribusiness sector, namely the annulment of a tax decision issued during a tax inspection for operations carried out during a period for which the statute of limitation occurred, and which had been the subject of a previous tax inspection.

A multi-disciplinary team made of experts from Deloitte Romania’s Financial Advisory practice and from Reff & Associates | Deloitte Legal provided assistance to Chimcomplex in obtaining the EUR 90 million funding for refinancing existing loans and for investment. The chemicals producer borrowed EUR 26.7 million from CEC Bank and EUR 30 million from Alpha Bank on September 30, 2021, which the company will use for fully refinancing existing loans from VTB and Credit Suisse/Argentum Netherlands BV, for the takeover of Oltchim assets, and for continuing development projects. The EUR 56.7 million amount will be supplemented by a EUR 33.3 million loan from CEC Bank, which will be contracted in October 2021, totalling EUR 90 million.

After assisting Haier Tech in obtaining the financing agreement for state aid in December 2019, Deloitte’s Management Consulting practice is now advising Haier Tech in the implementation of the large investment project that exceeds EUR 53 million, for which the state will provide aid of EUR 25 million.
