Nuclear power producer Nuclearelectrica (SNN.RO), small modular nuclear reactor (SMR) technology provider NuScale and the E-Infra group of companies on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding for the development of the first SMR reactor in Romania on the site of the former Doicesti thermal power plant, in Dambovita County.

Nuclear power producer Nuclearelectrica (SNN.RO) on Friday notified the Bucharest Stock Exchange that at the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP26), U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer M. Granholm and Romania’s Minister of Energy, Virgil Popescu, announced NuScale Power and Nuclearelectrica signed an agreement to implement the NuScale’s innovative small modular reactor technology.
