Rompetrol Rafinare, part of KMG International Group (Rompetrol), on Tuesday announced it would stop operational activity at the Petromidia Năvodari and Vega Ploieşti refineries to carry out the scheduled intermediate technological turnaround at the beginning of March, for a period of around 20 days.
Rompetrol Rafinare is likely to process 5.6 million tons of oil in 2022 at Petromidia refinery, Romania’s biggest, way up from 4.6 million tons in 2021, a year when the unit’s activity was halted for three months because of an incident.
The Kazakh-Romanian Energy Investment Fund has launched the construction of a cogeneration plant on the Petromidia platform, an investment amounting to around $148 million, it said in a press release Thursday.
