Russia officially withdraws from European Anti-Torture Convention
On November 1, Russia officially withdrew from the European Convention for the Prevention of Torture. As a result, the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (ECPT) will no longer be able to inspect places of detention in the country.
