Rescuers have already retrieved the bodies of 15 people from under the rubble of a three-story residential building destroyed by Russia in the Saltivsky district of Kharkiv.
A total of 17 civilians have been killed in Russia’s late night and early morning missile strikes on the city of Kharkiv. Two more civilians were killed in Russia’s missile strike on the city of Krasnohrad.
In Kharkiv, the number of those killed by Russian missile strike on a three-storey residential building in Saltivskyi district on the evening of August 17 increased to twelve.
Russian forces attempted to break through the defense lines of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and advance toward Lebiazhe and Bazaliivka in the Kharkiv region but were forced to retreat. In addition, the enemy unsuccessfully tried to advance in the Sloviansk and Bakhmut directions.
Despite daily shelling, municipal transport continues to operate in Kharkiv, so the enemy tries to destroy the city's rolling stock and infrastructure.

Russian forces early on Monday shelled a housing estate in the Saltivsky district of Kharkiv using unguided rockets from Grad multiple rocket launchers, and the number of those injured increased to seven.
