  • Ucom and Sunchild NGO install another solar plant in Areni

    A solar power plant with a capacity of 10.44 kWh was installed for the newly built kindergarten in the Areni settlement of Vayots Dzor as part of collaboration between Ucom and the Sunchild NGO. The community kindergarten was built quite recently and opened in September of this year. From the outset, the building plans included provisions for a solar plant, and the Areni community approached Ucom and Sunchild for assistance with its installation. The newly installed solar plant, located on the kindergarten's roof, is expected to significantly reduce electricity expenses. Furthermore, if the facility transitions to electric heating, the solar plant’s output will be able to fully support these additional needs.   • Another solar power plant by Ucom and SunChild NGO installed in Vardenis

    As a result of cooperation between Ucom and the SunChild NGO, another community infrastructure development project has been carried out in Vardenis community of the Gegharkunik region. A solar power plant with a capacity of 11.6 kWh was installed on the roof of a community-owned building in Garnik Karapetyan Park in Vardenis. These solar panels are designed to cover the energy costs of the park’s lighting and other adjacent structures. Additionally, the surplus energy will be redirected to reduce the electricity costs of other community infrastructure.     Ucom and SunChild NGO implemented another infrastructure development project in Vardenis community of Gegharkunik region. As part of this project, a 9.28 kWh solar power plant was installed at the Lchavan pumping station, which will help significantly reduce expenses on electricity consumption of the pumping station and provide residents with longer daily access to drinking water. Previously, due to the high costs of operating the pumping station, residents had access to drinking water for only two hours a day. Now, thanks to the installed solar plant, access to drinking water will increase by 50%, significantly easing the daily lives of residents.     This time, Ucom and SunChild NGO introduced their cooperative project in Chakaten settlement of Kapan community, Syunik region. A solar plant with an installed capacity of 9.28 kWh has been installed on the roof of the Chakaten local municipality building, aimed at promoting environmentally and economically sustainable living in border areas. The energy generated by the solar panels will be enough to cover the electricity needs of the local municipality building, as well as the settlement’s outdoor lighting, significantly reducing community expenses.
