Lockheed is investing $300 million to expand its Grand Prairie, Texas, plant, which supports all programs within its Missiles and Fire Control business.
“If we were to go forward with exploring any kind of production in Germany, we would likely do that with a company like Diehl,” a Lockheed executive said.
The seeker deal aligns with an agreement in January between the Pentagon and Lockheed to up the annual production of THAAD interceptors from 96 to 400.
If the F-35 upgrades known as Technology Refresh 3 aren't ready for deliveries to resume in the third quarter, Lockheed said it may slow down production.
