Sixty-six U.S. aerial refueling aircraft remain based at the airport, and TheMarker has learned additional aircraft will be relocated by the end of the week. Domestic flights will resume operating from Terminal 1 on June 28, and international flights will resume from the terminal on July 1
The terminal, which briefly opened seven months after the war's start anticipating an influx in tourism, is closing due to a decrease in passenger traffic, and low-cost carriers cancelling service over security concerns. Domestic flights will continue to fly out of Terminal 1
Due to an anticipated major increase in passenger traffic at Ben Gurion airport in the summer, the Ministry of Transport has decided to reopen Terminal 1 at the end of May.
