With Ucom's support, SunChild NGO has installed a solar plant with a capacity of 10.44 kWh at Kindergarten No. 2 in the Malishka village of Yeghegnadzor community in Vayots Dzor marz. The location of the kindergarten building, which was completely renovated in 2013, allows the maximum efficiency of the solar plant. The installed station will provide an opportunity to cover the entire cost of heating the kindergarten, as well as other electricity costs. Currently, over 50 children attend the kindergarten, but plans are underway to open enrollment for children aged 2 to 3, increasing attendance to over 80 children. A solar power plant with a capacity of 10.44 kWh was installed for the newly built kindergarten in the Areni settlement of Vayots Dzor as part of collaboration between Ucom and the Sunchild NGO. The community kindergarten was built quite recently and opened in September of this year. From the outset, the building plans included provisions for a solar plant, and the Areni community approached Ucom and Sunchild for assistance with its installation. As a result of cooperation between Ucom and the SunChild NGO, another community infrastructure development project has been carried out in Vardenis community of the Gegharkunik region. A solar power plant with a capacity of 11.6 kWh was installed on the roof of a community-owned building in Garnik Karapetyan Park in Vardenis. Ucom and SunChild NGO implemented another infrastructure development project in Vardenis community of Gegharkunik region. As part of this project, a 9.28 kWh solar power plant was installed at the Lchavan pumping station, which will help significantly reduce expenses on electricity consumption of the pumping station and provide residents with longer daily access to drinking water. Previously, due to the high costs of operating the pumping station, residents had access to drinking water for only two hours a day.
