  • Saudi crown prince will visit Trump on Nov 18: White House official
    Dawn - 09:15 Nov 04, 2025
Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman will be at the White House on November 18 for an official working visit with United States President Donald Trump, a White House official said on Monday. The visit comes as Trump pushes Saudi Arabia to join the list of nations that have joined the Abraham Accords. In 2020, Trump reached deals with the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco to normalise relations with Israel. The Saudis have been hesitant to join in the absence of steps toward Palestinian statehood. Trump told CBS’ “60 Minutes” in an interview broadcast on Sunday that he believed the Saudis would ultimately join the accords. The US president also said earlier this month that he expected an expansion of the Abraham Accords soon and hoped Saudi Arabia would join the pact. In August, he also stressed the importance of Middle Eastern countries joining the accords. Trump and the crown prince may also discuss a US-Saudi defence agreement. The Financial Times reported two weeks ago that there ...

    Decrypt - 16:38 Nov 03, 2025
Crypto majors fell between 2–5% following a Sunday night selloff, with Bitcoin down 2% at $108,100, Ethereum off 4% at $3,720, BNB down 6% at $1,020, and Solana dropping 5% to $176. Among top movers, ASTER (+8%) and TRUMP (+3%) led the gains. ASTER initially surged 25% after CZ announced he had bought the token and planned to hold it long-term, though it has since retraced most of that move. In corporate news, Microsoft signed a $9.7 billion deal to purchase AI cloud services from Bitcoin miner IREN, sending IREN stock up 20% in premarket trading. Meanwhile, Trump distanced himself from CZ following his latest pardon, claiming he “didn’t know” him. Elon Musk mentioned Polymarket during his appearance on the Joe Rogan podcast, highlighting the growing attention toward prediction markets. Bitcoin ended “Uptober” in the red for the first time in seven years, Tether reported roughly $10 billion in profit for the first three quarters of 2025, and Balancer v2 pools were exploited for over $110 million.

  • ‘They do not talk about it’: Trump claims Pakistan among countries testing nuclear weapons
    Dawn - 09:10 Nov 03, 2025
US President Donald Trump has included Pakistan among countries that he claims are “testing nuclear weapons”, saying that he did not want the US to be the only country that does not do so. “North Korea has been testing. Pakistan has been testing. […] But they don’t go and tell you about it,” he said in an interview on CBS News programme ‘60 Minutes’, where he was asked about his recent directives to the Pentagon to resume testing nuclear weapons. He also named Russia and China as testing nuclear weapons. In a recent social media post, Trump had instructed the US Department of War to resume testing nuclear weapons “immediately”. Confusion has surrounded Trump’s order that the US begin testing, particularly if he meant conducting the country’s first nuclear explosion since 1992. When the matter was brought up during the interview, Trump said: “Well, we have more nuclear weapons than any other country. I think we should do something about denuclearisation. And I did actually discuss that with both Russian Presid...

    Cointelegraph.com - 06:46 Nov 02, 2025
A crypto analyst said the crypto market crash in October will be looked back on as one of the “bottom days in hindsight." A widely used crypto market sentiment indicator has remained in uncertain territory despite improved clarity on trade relations between US and China. It comes as US President Donald Trump reached a trade deal with China this week. However, some crypto analysts suggest the announcement could soon have a positive impact on the crypto market. The Crypto Fear & Greed Index, which measures overall crypto market sentiment, posted a “Fear” score of 37 on Sunday, up 4 points from its “Fear” score of 33 on Saturday. The slight uptick comes as the White House released a comprehensive statement outlining the trade agreement reached between Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Read more

  • Canadian PM Carney says he apologised to Trump over anti-tariff ad
    Dawn - 07:36 Nov 01, 2025
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney confirmed on Saturday he apologised to United States President Donald Trump over an anti-tariff ad featuring former US leader Ronald Reagan and had told Ontario Premier Doug Ford not to run it. Trump announced he would be hiking tariffs on Canadian goods by an additional 10 per cent and terminated all trade talks following what he called the “fake” anti-tariff ad campaign. “I did apologise to the president. The president was offended,” Carney told journalists in the South Korean city of Gyeongju, adding trade talks would restart when the US is “ready”. Carney also confirmed that he had reviewed the ad with Ford before it aired, but said he had opposed using it. “I told Ford I did not want to go forward with the ad,” he said. The ad, commissioned by Ford, an outspoken Conservative politician who is sometimes compared to Trump, uses a snippet of Republican icon and former president Reagan saying that tariffs cause trade wars and economic disaster. Carney also called talks wit...
  • Trump tells Pentagon to immediately resume testing US nuclear weapons
    Dawn - 16:27 Oct 30, 2025
United States President Donald Trump ordered the US military on Thursday to immediately resume testing nuclear weapons after a gap of 33 years, minutes before beginning a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Trump made the surprise announcement on Truth Social while he was aboard his Marine One helicopter flying to meet Xi for a trade negotiating session in Busan, South Korea. He said he was instructing the Pentagon to test the US nuclear arsenal on an “equal basis” with other nuclear powers. “Because of other countries’ testing programs, I have instructed the Department of War to start testing our nuclear weapons on an equal basis. That process will begin immediately,” Trump wrote in a social media post. “Russia is second, and China is a distant third, but will be even within 5 years.” The move comes after Russian President Vladimir Putin said yesterday that Moscow had successfully tested a nuclear-capable underwater drone, in defiance of Washington’s warnings. A senior Russian lawmaker said Trump’s de...

    Dawn - 05:28 Oct 30, 2025
US President Donald Trump said he had struck a deal to reduce tariffs on China on Thursday in exchange for Beijing resuming US soybean purchases, keeping rare earths exports flowing and cracking down on the illicit trade of fentanyl. His remarks after the face-to-face talks with China’s leader Xi Jinping in the South Korean city of Busan, their first since 2019, marked the finale of Trump’s whirlwind Asia trip on which he also touted trade breakthroughs with South Korea, Japan and Southeast Asian nations. The meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, lasted nearly two hours. Trump shook hands and escorted Xi to his car before the US president was given a red carpet send off at the airport. Speaking to reporters on Air Force One, Trump said the meeting with Xi yielded an extendable one-year deal on the supply of crucial rare earths. “All the rare earths has been settled, and that’s for the world,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One, adding that th...

  • ‘Great fighter, favourite field marshal’: Here are all the comments Trump has made about COAS Munir
    Dawn - 14:19 Oct 29, 2025
Pakistan and the United States have recently seen an upswing in bilateral relations, particularly after US President Donald Trump mediated a ceasefire between Islamabad and New Delhi following a four-day military escalation in May. Since then, Trump has frequently highlighted his role in averting what he described as a potential nuclear confrontation between the two neighbours. On June 19, President Trump extended an unprecedented invitation to Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, for a historic luncheon at the White House. The US president has since lauded Munir on several occasions, even referring to him as “my favourite field marshal.” Field Marshal Munir became the first serving Chief of Army Staff to have a face-to-face meeting with a sitting US president after joining the US President. The occasion also marked the first time a serving Pakistani army chief had been formally received at this level, without holding political office or governing under martial law. Previous military rulers — such...

  • Trump’s crypto pardons raise ethics and corruption concerns
    Cointelegraph.com - 14:09 Oct 29, 2025
President Donald Trump has pardoned CZ, marking another act of clemency for a prominent figure in the crypto industry that signals a concerning trend. US President Donald Trump pardoned Changpeng Zhao, also known as CZ, on Oct. 21. The former Binance executive is just the latest on a growing list of convicted crypto executives to receive clemency from the White House. Even on the campaign trail, Trump promised to make an about-face on crypto policy and grant clemency to individuals such as Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht. The president cited instances of lawfare from the Biden administration as a significant motivator. While starting with Ulbricht in January, the list has grown to include four executives from the exchange BitMEX as well. This has encouraged some high-profile crypto figures behind bars, such as former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried, to make overtures to the Trump administration. Read more

  • Trump again praises ‘great guy’ PM Shehbaz and ‘great fighter’ COAS Munir
    Dawn - 13:31 Oct 29, 2025
US President Donald Trump on Wednesday once again praised both Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir while reiterating his role in ending a four-day conflict between Pakistan and India in May. Earlier this month, Trump had thanked PM Shehbaz and COAS Munir, his “favourite”, for their efforts in achieving peace in Gaza. He had also called both of them “great people” while offering to mediate between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Today, while addressing a luncheon at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) — which is being hosted in Gyeongju, South Korea this year — Trump talked about both Pakistan and India, as well as the conflict between the countries earlier this year. “I’m doing a trade deal with India and I have great respect and love as you know for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as you know. We have a great relationship,” he said. “Likewise, the prime minister of Pakistan is a great guy, and the Field Marshal — they have a Field Marshal. You know why h...

A Palestinian man inspects the site of an overnight Israeli strike on a house in Gaza City on Oct 29, 2025. — Reuters United States President Donald Trump said on Wednesday “nothing” would jeopardise the ceasefire in Gaza, after Israel carried out air strikes on the Palestinian territory accusing Hamas of violating the truce, which the group denied. Gaza’s civil defence agency said that Israeli attacks had killed at least 50 people, including 22 children, and wounded around 200. “At least 50 killed, including 22 children and a number of women and children, as a result of the ongoing Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip since last night,” Mahmud Bassal, spokesman for the agency, told AFP. Around 200 people were wounded “in a clear and flagrant violation of the ceasefire agreement”, he said, calling the situation in Gaza “catastrophic and terrifying”. Trump defended Israel’s actions on Wednesday, saying it “should hit back” if Israeli soldiers were killed, but added that “nothing’s going to jeopardise” to truce. “They killed an Israeli soldier. So the Israelis hit back. And they should hit back,” Trump told reporters on Air Force...
