ISLAMABAD - Pakistan and Egypt have agreed to significantly enhance their economic and strategic partnership by establishing a Pakistan–Egypt Business Council, aimed at institutionalizing private-sector cooperation and boosting bilateral trade and investment.

Pakistan and Egypt have agreed to strengthen collaboration in political dialogue, defence, trade and counterterrorism efforts, following high-level talks in Islamabad on Monday.

Egyptian authorities have detained more than 200 pro-Palestinian activists in Cairo ahead of an international march with the stated aim of breaking Israel’s blockade on Gaza, organisers said Thursday.
