Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has convened a meeting of the Council of Common Interests (CCI) today, as requested by the Sindh government, Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said. The meeting, initially scheduled for May 2, has been brought forward following the Sindh government’s request. Security forces foiled an attempt to infiltrate the Pakistan-Afghanistan border and killed at least 54 terrorists in the Hassan Khel area of North Waziristan district, the military's media wing said on Sunday. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the security forces picked up movement of a group of militants, who were trying to infiltrate through the Pak-Afghanistan border in the general area of Hassan Khel, North Waziristan district, on the night between April 25, 26 and 27. "Own troops effectively engaged and thwarted their attempt to infiltrate. As a result of precise and skillful engagement, all 54 khawarij have been sent to hell," it said.
