On May 21, Russian troops shelled the territories of Chernihiv and Sumy regions close to the border with the Russian Federation five times, employing mortars and artillery.
Seven residential buildings and an outbuilding were damaged as a result of shelling in the village of Hirsk Snovsk territorial community in Chernihiv region.
In the afternoon, Russian troops fired nine more times at the border of the Chernihiv and Sumy regions - with mortars, artillery and helicopter gunships.
A rehabilitation center intended for Ukrainian defenders is likely to be built in the Chernihiv region’s Nizhyn. The construction works are expected to be financed by the French Republic.
