Three-quarters of the residents of Donetsk region have already been evacuated. A total of 5,575 people have left the region since the beginning of the mandatory evacuation campaign.
Donetsk and Crimea legally have the same status as Mariupol or Melitopol. They are Ukrainian territories occupied by the Russian army and are subject to liberation.
Russian forces launched 27 strikes on Donetsk region on August 8, killing and injuring civilians, including a child. A school, a humanitarian aid distribution point and civilian houses came under enemy fire.
The government of Ukraine will introduce mandatory evacuation of residents of unoccupied areas of Donetsk region before the start of the heating season.
