Mayor Oleksandr Lysenko of Sumy issued a statement on the likelihood of another Russian invasion of the region, saying no strike group is currently being observed on the borders.
Russian artillery forces struck the center of the city of Vorozhba in the Sumy region at about 14:00 on January 23, damaging a residential building, a gas pipeline, power lines and railway infrastructure.
On January 10, the Russian troops once again struck the border territories of Sumy and Chernihiv regions, northern Ukraine. A total of 42 strikes were recorded.
