The cryptocurrency, allegedly linked to ransomware proceeds, is expected to be added to the US crypto reserve. The US Justice Department has authorized the seizure of more than $2.8 million in cryptocurrency along with cash and other assets as part of a criminal case against an alleged ransomware operator. In a Thursday notice, the Justice Department said it had unsealed six warrants authorizing the seizure of $2.8 million in crypto from a wallet controlled by Ianis Aleksandrovich Antropenko, as well as $70,000 in cash and a luxury vehicle.
