ISLAMABAD - Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi had finalized a comprehensive security plan for the central 9th Muharram procession, deploying over 3,000 personnel from district police, Special Branch, and Traffic Police.

Karachi’s central mourning procession of Muharram 9 entered its destination of Hussainiya Iraniyan Imambargah in Kharadar on Saturday and peacefully concluded amid tight security, according to police. Earlier in the week, Karachi Traffic Police issued a traffic plan for Muharram 8 to 10, outlining the procession routes as well as alternative traffic flows. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has credited Pakistan’s law enforcement agencies for ensuring peace and security during Muharram, commending the coordinated efforts of police, rangers, and intelligence services across the country.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi on Saturday visited the entry and exit points of the central 9th Muharram procession at Imambargah Asna Ashri in Sector G-6 to personally inspect and supervise the security arrangements.
