KARACHI: Alleged drug queenpin Anmol alias Pinky was sent to jail on a 14-day judicial remand on Friday in multiple narcotics cases and a murder case. Anmol was arrested earlier this month in Karachi in connection with two cases pertaining to the possession of narcotics and an unlicenced weapon. She had already been booked in multiple criminal cases prior to her arrest, taking the number of cases active against her to over a dozen. On Friday, Anmol was brought to the Judicial Complex at Central Jail amid high security. She was presented before the judicial magistrates concerned upon the completion of her physical remands in cases registered at the Baghdadi, Specialised Investigation Unit (SIU/CIA), Gizri and Darakhshan police stations. ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister and PPP leader Raja Pervez Ashraf on Wednesday reacted to alleged drug baroness Anmol alias Pinky purportedly naming him as a client, saying that he had led a “spotless life”. A recent video of the suspect during a court appearance had gone viral on social media, in which she can be heard saying the name “Raja Pervez”, before her voice is drowned out by the police officials accompanying her. However, a separate video has also emerged, in which her lawyer allegedly told reporters that she was being pressured into taking the names of certain politicians. It is worth mentioning that on May 18, during a court appearance, the suspect asserted she was facing pressure “to take names”. A local court on Tuesday remanded suspected drug trafficker Anmol, widely known as Pinky, into police custody for three days for further interrogation in multiple narcotics cases.

Inspector General Sindh Police Javed Alam Odho said that more prominent names could emerge in the case involving Anmol alias Pinky.

Anmol was arrested last week from her apartment in Karachi in connection with two cases pertaining to the possession of narcotics and an unlicenced weapon. LAHORE: After the arrest of drug dealer Anmol alias Pinky by Sindh Police, her appearance in a Karachi court whose video went viral on mainstream as well as social media and her revelations during the investigation, Punjab police have also woken up to three old cases allegedly registered against her and her brothers in Lahore several years ago and are reportedly planning to seek custody of the woman from Sindh. On the other hand, the arrest and investigation have put the Punjab Police under the scanner as it transpired that officers in the CIA (now the Crime Control Department) had taken bribes and avoided arresting Anmol, who was nominated in three cases. The FIRs were registered with Liaqatabad Police Station in 2019, Iqbal Town Police Station in 2020 and Kot Lakhpat Police in 2022, nominating Anmol and her two brothers, Nasir and Riaz Baloch.
