  • Bitcoiners perk up as odds of a December Fed rate cut almost double
    Cointelegraph.com - 00:01 Nov 22, 2025
Some Bitcoiners are speculating that the significant surge in the odds of a Fed rate cut in December may lead to Bitcoin finding a price “bottom here for now.” Bitcoiners were noticeably more upbeat on social media today as the odds of a US Federal Reserve rate cut in December nearly doubled compared to just a day earlier. Some crypto market participants are speculating that this could be the catalyst Bitcoin (BTC) needs to halt the asset’s downward trend. “Let’s see if that’s enough to find a bottom here for now,” crypto analyst Moritz said in an X post on Friday, as Bitcoin’s price trades at $85,071, down 10.11% over the past seven days, according to CoinMarketCap. The Bitcoin community lit up on Thursday after US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent made an unannounced appearance at the launch of Washington’s new Bitcoin-themed bar, Pubkey. “Having the Secretary of the Treasury at the Pubkey DC launch seems like a moment I could easily look back on and say ‘wow, it was all so obvious,” Bitcoin (BTC) treasury company Strive chief investment officer Ben Werkman said in an X post on Thursday. Steven Lubka, Nakamoto’s vice president of investor relations, called it “the sign you have been waiting for.” Read more

  • Bitcoiners chasing a quick Lambo are heading for a wipeout: Arthur Hayes
    Cointelegraph.com - 03:44 Sep 13, 2025
Arthur Hayes says that Bitcoiners buying Bitcoin one day and expecting a Lamborghini the next is “not the right way to think about things.” BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes says Bitcoin holders need to be more patient and stop worrying about stocks and gold hitting record highs, because asking why Bitcoin isn’t higher misses the point. “If you thought you were buying Bitcoin and the next day you were buying a Lamborghini, you’re probably getting liquidated because it is not the right way to think about things,” Hayes told Kyle Chasse in an interview published to YouTube on Friday. “I’m sorry that you bought Bitcoin six months ago, but anyone who bought it two, three, five, or 10 years ago, they’re laughing,” Hayes said, echoing the frustrations of recent Bitcoin (BTC) buyers who are asking why Bitcoin’s price isn’t trading at $150,000 yet.  Read more
  • Bitcoiners’ skepticism over institutions isn't going away: Preston Pysh
    Cointelegraph.com - 01:02 Aug 23, 2025
Concerns are rising among Bitcoiners over institutions doing "institutional-like things" with Bitcoin, Preston Pysh said in a recent podcast interview. Early Bitcoin adopters aren’t likely to stop being skeptical of institutional adoption anytime soon, says Bitcoin venture fund Ego Death Capital co-founder, Preston Pysh. “Part of that culture that brought it to where it is, is looking at where this is all going and saying no, no, no, no, this is all moving in a bad direction,” Pysh told Natalie Brunell on the Coin Stories podcast on Friday. Pysh said that institutions engaging in “institutional-like things,” such as Bitcoin (BTC) derivatives, have some Bitcoiners concerned about the long-term impact and whether Bitcoin can still serve as the safe-haven asset it once was. • Bitcoin core devs' joint statement sparks heated debate among Bitcoiners
    Cointelegraph.com - 04:05 Jun 08, 2025
The Bitcoin community is divided after core developers released a joint statement on transaction relay policy and use cases amid the ongoing OP_RETURN debate. A collective statement from 31 Bitcoin core developers has sparked a global debate among Bitcoiners after suggesting a hands-off approach to how the Bitcoin network is used, amid ongoing controversy over non-monetary use cases. “This is not endorsing or condoning non-financial data usage, but accepting that as a censorship-resistant system, Bitcoin can and will be used for use cases not everyone agrees on,” the June 6 statement published on the Bitcoin Core website said. The letter argued that Bitcoin (BTC) is a network “defined by its users” and that its core contributors are “not in a position” to mandate what software or policies they desire. It comes amid the ongoing debate over spam inscriptions on the Bitcoin network. Read more
  • Bitcoin treasury companies will hold 'way more' than Bitcoiners expect: Exec
    Cointelegraph.com - 07:26 May 24, 2025
A Bitcoin executive claims the exodus from fiat assets has "already begun," and Bitcoiners still underestimate how much Bitcoin treasury companies will ultimately hold. Moon Inc. head of Bitcoin strategy Jesse Myers says that Bitcoin holders are underestimating the significant amount of Bitcoin that corporations will accumulate by 2045. “Bitcoin Treasury Companies will hold 50% of all BTC, way more than most Bitcoiners are prepared for,” Jesse Myers said in a May 23 X thread. Myers further forecasted that Michael Saylor’s Strategy will own $70 trillion worth of Bitcoin (BTC) by 2045, “making it by far the most valuable company in the history of the world.” At the time of publication, Strategy holds 576,320 Bitcoin, worth approximately $62.24 billion, according to Saylor Tracker. Cointelegraph.com - 06:04 May 04, 2025
Arizona state senator and Bitcoin advocate Wendy Rogers said, “Bitcoin doesn’t need Arizona, Arizona needs Bitcoin." Bitcoiners and United States government officials have criticized Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs’ decision to veto a bill that would have allowed the state to hold Bitcoin as part of its official reserves. “This will age poorly,” Casa co-founder and cypherpunk Jameson Lopp said in a May 3 X post. Bitcoin (BTC) entrepreneur Anthony Pompliano said, “Imagine the ignorance of a politician to believe they can make investment decisions.” “If she can’t outperform Bitcoin, she must buy it,” Pompliano said. Crypto lawyer Andrew Gordon said, “We need more elected officials who understand that Bitcoin and crypto are the future.” Read more
