Brazil’s Mercado Bitcoin has issued more than $20 million in tokenized private credit on Bitcoin sidechain Rootstock and is targeting $100 million by April. Latin American digital asset platform Mercado Bitcoin said that it had deployed more than $20 million of tokenized private credit on Bitcoin sidechain Rootstock, deepening its push into real-world assets (RWAs) and targeting $100 million in issuances by April.  According to a release shared with Cointelegraph, several offerings had already reached target capacity since going live. Transaction fees dropped by 60%, boosting cost-efficiency and user accessibility, while the Lovell upgrade improved EVM compatibility and introduced critical protocol optimizations. Despite steady transaction growth, onchain revenue declined 24% due to reduced fees, and DeFi TVL contracted 20% amid market-wide headwinds.
