HYPE hit a record $90.92 after Hyperliquid opened manual borrowing, letting users borrow stablecoins against HYPE and Bitcoin collateral. HYPE, the native cryptocurrency of the Hyperliquid layer-1 blockchain and decentralized trading platform, set a fresh all-time high above $90 on Friday as the protocol rolled out manual borrowing. HYPE surged as high as $90.92 shortly after Hyperliquid announced users can now supply HYPE and Bitcoin as collateral to borrow the stablecoins USDC and Tether’s USDt (USDT). “Manual borrows are live on Hyperliquid,” the protocol said, adding that the feature and its portfolio-margin system use the same underlying HyperCore infrastructure. Token buybacks have pushed Hyperliquid to all time highs, but Alice Liu from CoinMarketCap warns that Binance poses a threat to the revenue stream it depends on to pay for them. Despite Bitcoin failing to hold above $80,000 following the recent rally, the cryptocurrency is unlikely to revisit the lower price levels it has hovered near for much of this year, according to CoinMarketCap Head of Research Alice Liu. “I think we might have already touched the bottom,” Liu tells Cointelegraph on Trade Secrets, referring to Bitcoin falling to around $59,000 in June this year, approximately 53% below its October all-time high of $126,100.  Bitcoin recently tapped $81,600 at the start of September, an approximate 28% rally since mid-August. It pushed the CoinMarketCap Crypto Fear & Greed Index, which measures overall sentiment in the crypto market, back up to Greed after posting Fear scores for most of the year. Read more

The Nasdaq-listed company previously raised $647 million through the facility and accumulated about 29.3 million HYPE tokens. HYPE treasury company Hyperliquid Strategies increased its equity facility with Chardan Capital Markets from $1 billion to $2.5 billion, giving the company additional capacity to raise capital through share sales. In a Tuesday filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, Hyperliquid Strategies said it amended its October 2025 Chardan Equity Facility purchase agreement to increase the aggregate gross purchase price of newly issued common shares.  The agreement allows Hyperliquid Strategies to periodically direct Chardan, a New York-based investment bank and broker-dealer, to purchase shares subject to pricing, trading volume, and other conditions. HYPE reached $72 after Trump said the CFTC was pursuing compliant US access for Hyperliquid, though no formal regulatory plan has been released. Hyperliquid’s native token surged more than 20% over 24 hours after United States President Donald Trump said regulators were working on a compliant pathway to make the decentralized trading platform available to American users. HYPE traded around $62 immediately before Trump’s remarks and subsequently jumped as much as 16% to a 24-hour high of $72.28, according to CoinGecko. It later settled to about $70, up approximately 20% in the last day, with 24-hour trading volume reaching $1.4 billion.  “I understand that Mike is also working to bring Hyperliquid into the United States in a fully compliant and legal fashion,” Trump said during a Wednesday White House event, referring to Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Chair Michael Selig. “Working very hard on that.” Read more

Regardless of the risks, HYPE remains one of the few digital assets with solid potential for the long term, one popular analyst claimed.

HYPE briefly fell 8% from its local highs as Multicoin Capital, Selini Capital and Galaxy Digital queued nearly $150 million of the token for withdrawals. Key points: Hyperliquid’s $HYPE slid to around $58 earlier on Wednesday in the face of large unstaking events initiated by crypto funds. Data obtained from hedge fund and analytics platform Block Liquidity shows Multicoin Capital holding a combined $138.78 million in staked HYPE, of which roughly 83% — about $116 million — sits in pending withdrawal. That’s as Selini Capital and Galaxy Digital have queued HYPE tokens worth $4.4 million and $29.4 million, respectively, for withdrawal. In addition, a Multicoin-linked wallet also deposited roughly 167,000 HYPE, worth $11.2 million, to Coinbase, possibly to be sold.  As of publication, the price had recovered some of its decline, last trading hands at $59.19, according to CoinGecko data. The proposal introduces a capital threshold and slashing mechanism intended to discourage poorly defined or improperly settled markets  In an announcement, Hyperliquid said permissionless deployment will become available on testnet before expanding to mainnet in a future network upgrade. Validators will vote on standard outcome templates that deployers can use to create markets, while each deployer will initially be limited to 100 outcomes. The deal gives Hyperion an equity stake in Skew and a share of listing-service revenue as it expands the utility of its HYPE treasury assets. Nasdaq-listed Hyperion DeFi said it entered an agreement with Skew Technologies to deploy 500,000 Hyperliquid (HYPE) tokens to support institutional perpetual futures markets on Hyperliquid’s HIP-3 permissionless listings. Under the agreement, Hyperion will receive an equity stake in Skew and a share of listing-service revenue generated from the platform, according to a Wednesday press release.
