Ucom is set to commence a network modernization in various regions of Armenia. In particular, on March 28, the legacy Mobile Switching Subsystem will be replaced with a new one. This replacement is a part of a year-long network modernization project aimed at improving connection quality. Due to these planned works, some subscribers in Shirak, Aragatsotn, Kotayk, and Armavir marzes, as well as partially in Gegharkunik, Lori, and Ararat marzes, may experience direct call interruptions. The migration will be organized during nighttime to minimize inconvenience to customers, however, voice services may still be affected during the day. It should be noted that connection outages or call drops will affect mostly 3G connection and direct calls. We apologize in advance for any inconveniences this may cause and assure customers that they will be notified beforehand about future upgrades. -

Ucom announces the launch of the modernization efforts aimed at enhancing the coverage and end-user performance of existing 4G+ networks in the regions of Armenia and the upgrade and expansion of the mobile network in preparation for the delivery of 5G-ready services. With the first batch from planned shipments of this year Ucom received an up-to-date systems and radio modules from Nokia. These up-to-date modules will be utilized to modernize a portion of Ucom’s regional sites enhancing coverage in those areas and extending LTE technology. The latest released baseband and radio modules are designed to support all known mobile technologies simultaneously, including 3G/4G+. The small and medium enterprise (SME) loan portfolio of Ameriabank increased by more than 30% in 2023 to reach to AMD 222.6 billion as of December 31, 2023. The number of SME clients of Ameriabank has also grown considerably, almost tripling over the past 3 years. In the enlarged Masis community the problem of garbage collection will be completely solved. Benefactor Mikael Vardanyan provided the community with a garbage truck, a multifunctional waste collection vehicle, 230 new waste containers and a truck. Thanks to the provided financial support, it will be possible to collect garbage in Masis city and 26 neighboring communities daily and fully. In 2023, Ucom achieved a high level of stable growth in both fixed and mobile communication services. According to the five-year strategy approved last year, the company's primary objective was to expand fixed and mobile networks, as well as to enhance the quality of communications, ensuring that all residents of Armenia have access to converged communication services—comprehensive packages encompassing mobile communications, mobile internet, fixed internet, and television. Presently, more than half of the company's fixed-line subscribers utilize converged services, receiving all communication services from Ucom. In particular, in 2023, converged communication services became accessible in the cities of Ijevan, Goris, Gavar, and Sevan. Over the years, the kindergarten in Armavir village of Armavir region, has had to rely on firewood for heating. Built around a hundred years ago, the building originally served a different purpose, it had very high ceilings, which required a lot of energy for warming. Despite the comparatively mild climate of the region, gas-operated heaters demand considerable expenses. The use of electric heaters and stoves is also impractical for children. However, all of these concerns are now a thing of the past. Thanks to the efforts of the Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC) and Viva-MTS, the kindergarten has now been equipped with solar photovoltaic panels to reduce energy expenses. Ameriabank (the Bank) has reached an agreement with the BOGG (the Group), a UK registered financial group, to join the latter as a standalone entity and the Group to become the main shareholder of the Bank, with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (“EBRD”) retaining their 10% shareholding in Ameriabank.
