The partners prioritize the enduring results: the long-term stability of a child’s behavior, the dynamics of socialization, the readiness of cooperation in the family, etc. The Zeynalyans are one of those families. • Benjamin Netanyahu dissolves war cabinet
    Armenian News - Tert.am - 09:28 Jun 17, 2024
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has dissolved his six-member war cabinet after former general Benny Gantz resigned. Netanyahu is now expected to hold consultations about the Gaza war with a small group of ministers, including Defence Minister Yoav Gallant who has also been critical of the war planning. The war cabinet was formed after opposition leader Gantz joined Netanyahu in a national unity government at the start of the war in the interest of national unity. It also included Gantz’s partner Gadi Eisenkot and Aryeh Deri, head of the religious party Shas, as observers. Gantz and Eisenkot both left the government last week, over what they said was Netanyahu’s failure to form a strategy for the Gaza war. It leaves Mr Netanyahu further isolated, having been harshly criticised by international partners for the war in Gaza too. Mr Netanyahu has faced demands from the nationalist-religious partners in his coalition, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, to be...

  • U.S. Sees Geopolitical ‘Dividend’ Of Armenia-Azerbaijan Peace Deal
    Armenian News - Tert.am - 10:48 Jun 13, 2024
A peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan would not only end their long-running conflict but also reduce Russian influence in the region and facilitate a new trade route from Central Asia to Turkey, according to a senior U.S. official. This is why the United Staes is encouraging the two South Caucasus nations to conclude such an agreement “over the next weeks to months,” U.S. Assistant Secretary of State James O'Brien told RFE/RL’s Armenian Service. “In our view, there’s a once-in-a-generation, maybe several-generations, opportunity to build a trade route from Central Asia across to the Mediterranean,” said O’Brien. “That can come only if there is peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. And that would open up not just basic commerce but new industries all across the route. That can happen now. In a few years, it may no longer matter as much … So now is the moment to do that.” “I also think it’s a great moment because we are seeing the countries all along that route see that they want less Russian influence,...
