As a result of the cooperation between SunChild NGO and Ucom, solar panels with an installed capacity of 11.02 kW have been installed on the roofs of the kindergarten in Tsaghkavan village, Berd community in the Tavush region. The energy generated from these panels will cover the entire electricity costs of the kindergarten and reduce heating expenses, allowing the kindergarten to allocate the savings to other essential needs. Reducing the operational costs of kindergartens is crucial because community funds often fall short of providing the best conditions for children. Ucom and SunChild NGO have launched a new phase of their joint environmental project, installing solar plants in the regions of Armenia. With Ucom’s support, a solar photovoltaic plant with a capacity of 10.44 kW was installed at Noyemberyan State College. Noyemberyan State College is the only institution in the Tavush region where young people can receive secondary vocational or preliminary vocational (craftsmanship) education. As part of their practical training, students specializing in “Renewable Energy Power Plant Installation, Repair, and Maintenance” were involved in the installation work.
